Play Therapy Supervision Training

This session is for the current RPT-S or those aspiring to become a Registered Play Therapy Supervisor. This session is designed to support the integrity of both in-person and telehealth supervision. The primary instructional focus will be on the unique challenges in play therapy supervision as it relates to skill development, professional growth and the advanced criteria of RPT certification. Participants will be encouraged to bring their questions, thoughts and concerns for review and discussion.
This webinar is designed for: Social workers (LCSW, LMSW, LISW, BSW, AAW), psychologists (Ph.D., Psy.D., Ed.D.) school counselors, school psychologists, professional counselors (LMHC, LCMHC, CMHC, LPC, LCPC), marriage and family therapists (LMFT, LIMFT) art therapists, play therapists, occupational therapists, graduate students, and others in the mental health-related field.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES: After attending this workshop, participants will be able to:
- Explain the difference between play therapy supervision and play therapy consultation
- Discuss clinical supervision for the general supervisor as well as the play therapist supervisor
- Describe their unique style as a play therapy supervisor/consultant
- Identify how to improve their performance as a play therapist supervisor
- Demonstrate supervisory techniques/skills useful in play therapy supervision

ABOUT OUR PRESENTER: Teri V. Krull, LCSW, RPT-S, DCSW (NASW) has a 37-year private practice treating children and providing consultation to professionals and parents. A member of APT since 1985 and co-founder and first president of the Arizona APT, she served 6 years on the APT Board; chaired the APT board of directors (2000); and is currently a board member of the National APT Foundation. Teri is an international presenter in play therapy, parent coach, has authored 2 articles for the Play Therapy Magazine and has produced 4 educational play therapy films for long distance learning. In 2010 she was honored with the Arizona District and State NASW Lifetime Achievement Award. Teri is licensed in both Arizona and Maryland. VIRTUAL: This will be a virtual meeting. Participants will be awarded APT CONTACT CE after successful completion of a post test. Participants must be visible throughout the presentation. Due to COVID-19 health concerns, this one-time online event has been approved by APT for 3 CONTACT CE Hours.
MIAPT is approved by the Association for Play Therapy to offer continuing education specific to Play Therapy. APT Approved Provider 99-050. MIAPT maintains responsibility for the program.

CANCELLATION POLICY: If you notify MIAPT you are canceling, and we are able to fill your spot, you will receive a refund for the registration fee minus $15 administrative fee. Cancellation requests must be made in writing. No refunds after October 1, 2021.
